Power snack? Dates with almond butter – yum!!
Power tune? Really tough question! It depends on the day, but for today it will be Nighborhood #1 (Tunnels) by Arcade Fire
Power routine to get you through a crazy day? Yoga through the morning and if I am pretty stressed out and it’s a Wellington on a moody day – a walk in the wind is something I find very energising
What brought you to be a LabTech?
I am really interested in the working tools used in a startup environment and am considering my involvement with GovTech as a fast track to gain an insider perspective on this. I am really inspired by the projects we have on board and curious to see the final outcomes the teams will come up with. Last, but by no means least, I think of this role as an opportunity to meet some really interesting people!
What’s the number one change you’d like to see in the public sector?
Having worked within Local Government sector for a while, I’ve had the chance to work with some passionate and talented people who work on making the service delivery better. However, there are still some limitations due to the way government services are designed. I would love to see more collaboration, more innovation and a clearer focus on the end customer when designing a service.
Which project do you find the most interesting in the #LLGovTech Accelerator and why?
Wow – this is a tough question to answer as there are so many interesting projects! I think for me personally it is really encouraging to have projects focusing on how the Government and Local Government can increase their impact amongst the more vulnerable communities by increasing awareness and reach. Therefore, I will be interested to see the outcomes from projects such as Safety Planning, Building Financial Capabilities and Accessible Wellington in particular.
What is your superpower?
I am a connector and a problem solver. Coming from a financial background also means I can help in that sphere as well.
Share something that inspires you and why?
In my ideal world, I would love everyone to have a pure sense of joy in what they do, regardless of the area they work or operate within. This talk by Tina Roth-Eisenberg really gets some clarity on this topic.
